KIBS AD from North Macedonia has decided to officially join the Berlin Group as a participant. The core activities of KIBS AD (Clearing Interbank Systems) are related to clearing and settlement of interbank credit transfer transactions as an automated clearing house (ACH). KIBS also acts as a trusted service provider, offering digital certificates, time stamps, and other trusted services. There are also a variety of ICT services in the portfolio of KIBS utilised by banks, government institutions and other legal entities. KIBS is a share holding company owned by North Macedonian banks and is a member of different associations in the industry.
Berlin Group is very pleased with the additional commitment expressed by the North Macedonian Clearing House KIBS to contribute to the Berlin Group cooperative standardisation efforts. With the many changes that the European payments landscape is going through, the participants in Berlin Group believe that European agreed standards and open, widely supported technical agreements are crucial for a more harmonised, innovative and competitive market for payments in the European Union as well as EU candidate preparation to comply with the standards.
